The purpose of this information is to answer general questions about filing bankruptcy when you have tax problems. The bankruptcy law is complicated. It cannot be completely explained in a few paragraphs. Therefore, you should not rely upon this information alone to make a decision about whether or not to file a bankruptcy case or what type of bankruptcy case you should file.

If you have tax debt, you should consider bankruptcy if:

You own a business that has tax debt.

You are not eligible for an offer in compromise.

You have IRS liens and IRS levies.

You owe sales taxes to the Illinois Department of Revenue.

You have trust fund liability for unpaid payroll taxes or sales taxes

You are self-employed and have business and personal tax debt.

Your wages are being levied.

You have tax debt and other debt that you cannot pay.
Your tax debt is in collection and you are looking for solutions.

If you have tax problems, we recommend that you come in to the office for a consultation.   Please call 312-372-4400 or  send an e-mail to kjplawnet@aol.com.    Please include the dates and times that are convenient for you to meet with Ms. Porter.
